We were approached by Lasso to create a series of CGI rendered performance compression socks for use in their online store. The goal of the project was to visualize the socks in a more engaging form and also in a way that showcased the texture of the fabrics which was a key element in the technology behind the socks. The previously used traditional photography lacked this element so a large part of the project was exploring the different fabric textures that made up the socks and rebuilding them through the use of CGI. We used a lot of photo and physical references of the socks to achieve as realistic of a result as possible. As a result, we created a set of highly detailed white and black socks in crew and knee sizes.
